Antonia Lofaso
Antonia Lofaso's cooking can be a way to investigate the possibilities within her. She began to be interested in food and cooking after moving from suburbs of Long Island to the diverse cultural landscape that is Los Angeles. Carnitas and Cavatellis within the same menu is what she believes in. But what remains with her food is a singular vision towards the future while achingly recollecting the previous. Motivated by her American-born Italian heritage, Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 and was instantly well-received. Lofaso's rendition of old school Italian cuisine is one of the most sought-after restaurants in Los Angeles. The restaurant serves delicious and consistent meals at Scopa it is a local favorite. Its patrons describe it as authentic and satiating. Lofaso trained under legendary chefs and learned their sophisticated methods but she never hesitated of taking risks that were too high to be true to her own instincts. After a brief period, Lofaso rose to the top in Wolfgang Puck's Spago. Later she worked with many famous celebrities while transforming various Los Angeles restaurants. In 2011 Lofaso joined forces with Sal Aurora and Mario Guddemi to launch Black Market Liquor Bar in Studio City. She was able to secure the space within Black Market as well as her partnerships. Lofaso could finally enjoy the creativity she had always desired. Black Market does not have a single direction, and this is its intention. A meal could start with potatoes chips, peppers and some dill. This could be followed by Korean meatballs and wings. What binds this diverse array of flavors is Antonia. Lofaso assessed her success in the field by her capacity to be able to comprehend and appear authentic to her audiences. She has been a part of numerous television shows including Top Chef Chicago, Top Chef: All Stars as well as Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child on The Food Network and ABC's Real O'neals. Her talents are still being showcased as a judge on CNBC's Restaurant Startup. Lofaso has released her book, The Busy Mother's Cookbook: 100 Quick and Delicious Recipes, in 2012, together with Penguin. The book also tells the story of her challenges when she was a student at her school, the French Culinary Institute. She had a daughter, Xea and her son Xea. Lofaso believes that all her success is due to her passion cooking, and she's capable of keeping her finger in the middle of this field by staying on the kitchen. She is transforming the aesthetic by redesigning chef wear for style and functionality with her own brand Chefletics. Lofaso believes in staying true to you and your goals. In order to achieve this, she's created Antonia Lofaso Catering. The new business will give tailored experience to clients.
